Elizabethan Mania . Trend

You would have to be blind not to notice the new trend that is coming for autumn/winter 2013 - the Elizabethan Mania Trend. We all know that lots of artists get their inspiration from former kings and queens, but we would never suspect that Sarah Burton would be the first on the Elizabethan scene. The Alexander McQueen ready-to.wear Fall collection left us all speechless with a luxurious ten piece collection full of gemstones, beads and pearls.

Even if this is not your cup of tea, you have to admit that the ateliers of McQueen were able to achieve a lavish collection. Labouring two weeks on each ensemble was probably not easy but totally worth the pain.

Gladly fashion and art often go hand in hand, meaning that right now you can visit a wonderful exhibition at the Queen's Gallery at the Buckingham Palace called “In Fine Style: The Art of Tudor and Stuart Fashion” for some inspiration.  The exhibition tells a story of fashionable dress through portraiture, because "Even when it conceals the body, clothing can be revealing". Our clothes reveal  information, and during those centuries you could tell who was the most important person in the room by looking at what they were wearing. Interesting, right?
